4D Life Marginal Gains Clinic

Nick Berners-Price has been a Personal Trainer for over 30 years. He now works with some of the UK’s most influential people in Government, business and the civil service, as well as NHS Consultants and celebrities.

He has also been living with Multiple Sclerosis for nearly 20 years, his first symptoms appearing in 2006 when he lost the feeling in his legs for 18 months.

In that time he has researched and developed an approach to managing medical conditions that is both unique, but also obvious and intuitive – use the Marginal Gains technique. You may be familiar with this as the system that Sir Dave Brailsford used to propel British cycling to becoming world leaders at the 2012 Olympics and Tour de France. It is now commonly used in business, sport and performance.

Nick uses this technique to manage his own condition (currently without the need for medication). He has also been working with people living with Parkinson’s for over 20 years. He runs an online clinic for people with MS, Parkinson’s or Chronic Fatigue helping them to implement the Marginal Gains approach.

The method for the approach is simple. Find as many areas that have a proven, evidence-based benefit to any particular condition, or overall health, and implement as many of them as possible. When you stack up these benefits one on top of another, the potential resulting benefit can be life changing.

The clinic is designed to help you learn what the evidence tells us about dose/type/technique/etc., and then support you to implement the elements that are right for you. This is no easy task and the right support is key. It is important to co-ordinate with a MultiDiscipliary Team that might include a Neurologist, Neurological Physiotherapist, Parkinson’s/MS Nurse, Dietitian, etc..

You can use the clinic however suits you best. Most clients book in once a month, but some once a week and others once every 3 months. Each session costs £160 and includes a one hour online appointment and full written summary.
